Elections: Reactions trail disqualification of Zamfara APC

Reactions have trailed the disqualification of Zamfara state chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, from contesting the 2019 general elections in the state.

Senator Garba Kabiru Marafa, who spoke to DAILY POST on phone, stated that the G8 group was not power drunk like Governor Abdulaziz Yari, saying that the group only want to prove to him that he is not the alpha and omega in the state.

“We the G8 want him to understand that he cannot manipulate the senses of over three million citizens of the state,” he lamented.

He disclosed that the G8 is not happy that their party will not be participating in the elections, saying that they want to free the state from the long domination of cabals like Senator Ahmad Sani Yarima and Governor Abdulaziz Yari.

When contacted, the chairman of the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Ibrahim Malaha said the verdict of the Appeal Court has shown the judiciary has embraced justice in the system.

“In fact, we appreciate the judgement and we have more confidence now in the judiciary,” he said.

Malaha said they are looking up to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to take the footsteps of the judiciary, stressing that the whole world is watching INEC to see what the electoral commission is up to.

In his own reaction, a public commentator, Alhaji Ahmad Bakare blamed the G8 for taking the case too far, saying that they have denied some people within the party from the contest.

“It is very true that Governor Abdulaziz Yari is very stubborn. He is the Czar of Zamfara state because he rules the state with iron hand,” he lamented.

Bakare stated that both Senator Ahmad Sani Yarima and Abdulaziz Yari would settled the matter amicably before the matter became uncontrolled.

He blamed the senator to have allowed the trouble to reach that level since he claimed that he is the doyen of Zamfara politics.
