The Presidential Support Committee has debunked claims that it gave a 48-hour ultimatum to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to lift the suspension slammed on the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha.
The Director of Media and Publicity of the committee, Engineer Kailani Muhammad, in a statement yesterday, said the report credited to one Ejikeme Ugwa, Robert Ngwu and Maxwell Okoye was not written on behalf of the committee.
Governor Okorocha and his Ogun State counterpart, Ibikunle Amosun, were suspended by the Adams Oshiomhole-led national body of the APC immediately after the presidential election.
Mohammed said, “PSC was set up primarily to compliment the effort of the party to ensure the re-election of the President Muhammadu Buhari and all other candidates contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that is why the Support Committee is not in anyway having conflict with the party, its leadership or decisions.
“While we disclaimed them in totality as impersonator, who have no authority to act or speak on behalf of PSC, we warn the general public to disregard them and avoid working or relating with them in any capacity on behalf of PSC,” he added.
