Elections: NSCDC boss applauds security arrangement

Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ade Abolurin, has applauded the security arrangements put in place for the just-concluded general elections.

Making this commendation in a statement issued by the NSCDC spokesman, Mr. Emmanuel Okeh, in Abuja on Wednesday, the Commandant-General noted that the diligence and professionalism of officers of the NSCDC and other security agencies were responsible for the relative peace in the country during the polls.

He specifically extolled the dedication displayed by all members of the corps and urged them not to relent in their efforts and passion for contributing their quota to the progress and development of their fatherland.

While encouraging them not to forget the corps’ watchword which is “Humility and Integrity” in service delivery, Abolurin maintained that the orderly conduct of his men and other security agencies at all the polling units across the federation contributed largely to the success of the polls.

He went on to charge all state commands including the Federal Capital Territory, to redouble their efforts at ensuring zero tolerance for corruption by upholding the corps’ slogan of “Collect Bribe and Die, Compromise and be Kidnapped”.

This was as the Commandant-General enjoined Nigerians to eschew violence and work for the peace and unity of the country.
