Elections: Fani-Kayode reacts to face-off between Asari Dokubi, Nnamdi Kanu

A former Aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode on Wednesday weighed in on the tiff between ex-militant leader, Asari Dokubo and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Ahead of the presidential election, the IPOB leader had called for a boycott but later rescinded on his call. The earlier decision didn’t go down well with Dokubo.

Reacting, Dokubo had issued a stern warning to IPOB members against supporting an election boycott ordered by the IPOB leader.

He disclosed that the election boycott ordered by Kanu would benefit President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid, hence the people of the South-East should ignore the call and come out in huge numbers during the elections.

However, Fani-Kayode, while reacting to the face-off, urged both freedom fighters to settle their differences in the interest of the struggle.

In a tweet, Fani-Kayode wrote: “I call on my two brothers, Asari Dokubo and @MaziNnamdiKanu to build bridges.

“They may not agree on everything and they may have different opinions on some issues yet one thing remains clear: they are both fighting for freedom and justice and the liberation of their people.”
