Ekwueme warns Nigerians against rushing Buhari into making decisions

Nigerians were on Sunday warned by a former Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, against rushing President Muhammadu Buhari into taking hasty decisions on national issues. He added that what is most important is for there to be positive results.

Speaking during a thanksgiving mass of former APGA National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Aguluzuigbo, Anaocha LGA in Anambra State, Ekwueme said: “Every leader has his own style. The most important thing is to get the right results, ensure peace, stability and unity of the country”.

The elder-statesman however observed that the appointments so far made by President Buhari did not quite satisfy the federal character requirement as envisaged by the Constitution of the country.

According to him, the constitution of the country “requires the President to observe federal character in appointments, considering the six geopolitical zones in the country”.
