The Mega Party of Nigeria, MPN, has elected its governorship candidate for the 2018 governorship election in Ekiti State.
Mr. Sunday Balogun, won with 191 votes to defeat three other contestants.
Surv. Abiodun Aluko, with 146 votes, came second; Senator Bode Olowoporuku, with 72 votes, came third and Ambassador Ayodele Ayodeji, with 7 votes, fourth place.
Twenty-two votes were void, while the number of accredited votes was 467.
Chairman of the six-man committee of the primary election, Alhaji Isah Nuhu Isah, said he was very impressed with the conduct of the aspirants and the delegates.
Alhaji Isah commended the people for being patient, saying the exercise was perfectly done.
He urged the winner to carry everybody along in the schemes of things in the party.
Earlier, five contestants were in the race, but before voting began, one of the aspirants Mrs Bola Adeyina, stepped down.
Voting was done in order of state executives, senatorial districts and local government councils in the state.
In his speech, Balogun expressed satisfaction with the result.
Balogun stated that the Mega Party would take over the government of Nigeria and Ekiti State.
He commended security agencies for maintaining peace during the exercise, urging all contestants to see themselves as one family.
