Ekiti guber a litmus test for 2019 – Speaker Oluwawole

The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Right Honourable (Pastor) Kola Oluwawole, has described this Saturday’s governorship election in the state as a litmus test for the performance of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the 2019 general elections.

According to a statement by his Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, in Ado Ekiti on Monday, the Speaker made the statement during a rally for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, at Osan-Ekiti and Erinmope in Moba Local Government Area of the state, at the weekend.

Accompanied by leaders of the party in the local government as well as thousands of PDP enthusiasts, Oluwawole tutored the mammoth crowd on how to cast their ballot, while appealing to them to vote massively for the PDP.

“We thank you for your usual support for the PDP. This time around, we have ẹ a heavy task in our hands. This governorship election will be the litmus test for 2019. We must reject the party of killers right from next Saturday.

“Let us vote en mass for Professor Kolapo Olusola of the PDP. Our best bet is continuity. We don’t want to return to Egypt. We are moving forward with the unprecedented development of our state.

“Let me assure you that the Otun-Ekiti township road that the administration of Dr Peter Ayodele Fayose started will be completed by his administration. Every forces militating against its completion shall be subdued in Jesus name.

“We are no longer voting a government of debt. We say no to government that sacks teachers. We say no to government that would bring cows to sleep on our beds. We say no to government that would submit our lives to gunmen,” he said.

Other speakers at the rallies, including the Chairman of Moba Local Government, Mr Femi Ayeni; immediate-past chairman, Mr Adeniyi Adebayo; and a former member of the state House of Assembly, Mrs Ayoka Olajide, extolled the virtues of Pastor Oluwawole.

They described him as a leader and a blessing to the entire local government, advising the people of the local government to support him so that he would bring more dividends of democracy to the local government.

They urged the people to troop out on Saturday and cast their votes for the PDP and its candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola.
