Ekiti State Government has congratulated the new Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Dele Olugbemi.

A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Modupe Alade, assured that the government would work with him.

It said the Governor Ayo Fayose administration looked forward to a cordial working relationship with the new House leadership to move the state forward.

The statement, however, advised other members of the Assembly, who had gone on ‘self exile’ to return to perform what they were elected to do, saying they should not stay in exile if truly they were elected.

The government also advised the former speaker, Adewale Omirin, to return all government properties in his possession with immediate effect.

It urged the police to provide the full paraphernalia of office to the new speaker and the deputy speaker without delay.

The state government warned troublemakers to stay away from Ekiti, stressing that law enforcement agents would not allow anybody to foment trouble.

The government advised Ekiti people to go about their normal duties and support the Fayose’s administration.
