The Ekiti State Government under the leadership of Ayo Fayose has fired no fewer than 180 assembly workers employed by the immediate past Governor Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress.

The affected workers told newsmen on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti that their disengagement was announced by the Speaker, Hon. Dele Olugbemi, during the monthly prayer meeting to usher in the New Year at the assembly complex in Ado Ekiti.

However, while reacting to the development, Olugbemi, claimed the sacked workers were not properly employed by the Fayemi administration.

Hr added that they were “loaded on the neck of the Fayose administration to create problems for the government”.

The speaker said: “The list of the 180 people was hurriedly brought to the assembly in August and the circular was not even properly sent to the assembly.

“What we did now is that we have asked all of them to go and we will sort out those we need since we are the ones to pay their salaries”, Olugbemi said.
