Ekiti State Governor-elect, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi on Thursday met with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Fayemi alongside three governors met with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting was Fayemi’s first meeting with the president after the July 14 governorship election where the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC declared him winner.
Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Ahmad Bashir disclosed this in a tweet, saying “President @MBuhari receives the Ekiti State Governor-Elect, Dr. Fayemi accompanied by Gov. Bagudu of Kebbi state and Gov. of Ogun State. “
Recall that Fayemi, until he contested the Ekiti governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, was the Minister of Mines and Solid Development.
Fayemi polled 197,459 votes to defeat his close contender, Prof Kolapo Olusola, of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 178,121 votes.
