Ekiti election: INEC to prosecute perpetrators of multiple registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has warned politicians against hijacking the Continuous Voters’ Registration exercise commencing in Ekiti State today to perpetrate fraud, saying whoever does so will have himself to blame.

The electoral body threatened to prosecute perpetrators of multiple registration, assuring that fraud-proof mechanism has been put in place to checkmate desperate politicians from bastardising the programme.

The INEC Administrative Secretary in Ekiti, Dr Muslim Moleke, said Faseluka who stressed that it is mandatory for all public servants to mobilize and participate in the exercise said the holiday period should be used solely for the civic exercise.

He stated that government would frown on workers who use the period for travel purposes or any other purposes aside the voters’ registration for which it is declared.
