The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi, has visited former Ekiti governor, Segun Oni, after winning the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in the stated on Saturday.
This was revealed by media mogul, Dele Momodu, via his Twitter account.
He posted a picture of the two men together on Sunday and wrote: “Dr. Kayode Fayemi already on a courtesy visit to his closest co-contestant Engineer Segun Oni at his Ifaki home just this morning… #Ekitiwins.”
Fayemi polled 941 votes to beat Oni, who polled 481 votes .
Kayode Ojo scored 245 votes; Femi Bamisile, 171 votes; Oluyede Oluwole 110 votes.
Oni has vowed not to leave APC because of his loss and promised to give Fayemi his support to win the governorship election.
“I am a party person, I will not only support him (Mr Fayemi), I will encourage him. I don’t have any intention of leaving the APC,” Oni had said.
