A former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has alleged that incumbent Governor, Kayode Fayemi is carrying out acts capable of threatening the peace of the state.
Fayose made this assertion on Friday at the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP secretariat in Ado Ekiti, after he submitted the letter of his intent to contest the October 16, 2014 governorship election.
His letter which was addressed to the party chairman, Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, was submitted in the presence of members of the State Working Committee.
The letter reads: “This is to notify you of my intention to contest for the gubernatorial primary of our great party with the intention of becoming the gubernatorial candidate and subsequently win the 2014 Governorship election in Ekiti State”.
“I want to assure the workers that I will address, redress all injustice committed under this administration immediately I am sworn-in on October 16, 2014” Fayose said.
He promised to forge a robust relationship with the Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade and former Governor, Segun Oni to ensure that the PDP wins the governorship contest.
Reacting to the killing of one Mr. Ayodele Jeje in Erijiyan Ekiti last weekend, Fayose accused the current administration of harassing the opposition in the state.
Addressing his loyalists from all the 16 Local Council Areas in the state and party members from other South Western states, Fayose promised to recall all those purported to have been illegally dismissed from the state civil service if elected in next year’s election.
Speaking further, he described the local government caretaker committees constituted by Fayemi as illegal and disregard for law governing Local Government administration in the country. He promised to conduct council election immediately he assumes office.
Fayose is the 17th aspirant to have declared intention to run for Ekiti governorship office on the platform PDP.
