No fewer than eight persons were killed and eight others severely injured in a fatal auto accident that occurred on Wednesday, at the Ideani end of Nnobi-Ideani-Ojoto-Umuoji-Nkpor road in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The accident involved a Mitsubishi commercial bus and a tipper lorry.

DailyPost gathered that the Ekwulobia-bound Mass Transit bus, coming from Onitsha/Nkpor end had, on getting to Ideani River, collided with the tipper coming from Nnobi end.

Six of the passengers in the bus died on the spot, while two others died on their way to a nearby hospital. Those who sustained injuries were said to be on danger list in the hospital.

A senior police officer, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the incident. He, however, said only four persons had so far been confirmed dead by the police.
