Eid-el-Kabr: Police deploy over 2, 000 officers to secure mosques in Cross River

The Cross River State Police Command has deployed over two thousand police officers to secure lives and property in various mosques and playgrounds in the state.

Disclosing this to DAILY POST on phone on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Inuwa Hafiz said that protection of lives and maintenance of property was his priority.

“We shall not wait until crime is committed before we rush in, we nipped it on bud. In recent time, the Police has arrested six to seven armed robbers, amongst them a woman.

“We have made serious arrest of armed robbers within the last three days. Seven of them have so far been arrested and amongst them is a woman who was arrested with two guns and some cartridges,” he stated.

On the Eid-el-kabir, the Police commissioner said, “We have deployed over two Police men to guide all places of worships to ensure that the Eid-el-kabir is celebrated peacefully.

“Similarly, within the period under review, we have re-invigorated our strategies in crime control by making sure that our entire identified criminal high out is raked and we have been making so many arrests. We also have re-invigorated our patrol,” he added.
