Eid-el-Kabir: Pray for positive change – Ekiti Speaker tells Muslims

Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Right Honourable (Pastor) Kola Oluwawole, has charged Muslims across the nation to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir festival to pray for positive change in the nation, “so as to be relived of the current hardship.”

The Speaker, in a congratulatory message to Muslims in the country, particularly those in the state, over the Sallah celebration, signed by his Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, said the changed the ruling party gave was not what Nigerians bargained for, adding that “all hope have, however, not been lost.”

He said the people of the state, particularly the Muslim celebrants, should take advantage of the period to pray to the Almighty Allah to restore the good fortune of the nation so that the suffering masses would have respite.

“While I use this opportunity to congratulate the Muslim Umah in the entire Moba Local Government Area of the state, the state in general and the nation as a whole, I would want us to use this occasion to pray to the Almighty Allah and call for positive change.

“This current ‘change’ we have is not what Nigerians bargained for. There is so much hunger and many wrong things in the land. But we should be hopeful and continue to pray. All hopes have not been lost. I am optimistic that we can get what we ask God to give us.

“We need to beseech the Almighty Allah to give us positive change so that the suffering masses’ plight can be assuaged. The masses need to be assuaged of the current hardship.

“I share in the pain of your inability to celebrate this auspicious festivity as you deemed needed. It’s not only the Muslims that this delicate period met unexpected; we are all involved. But it saddened us that you would celebrate sparsely as a result of something that is not a fault of yours.

“By His grace, you will celebrate many more of this festival in better socio-economic environment. Just c ontinue to pray for return of positive change. You and your children will celebrate joyful festivities in the nearest future.

“Please, continue to support the Ayo Fayose-led state government. We will continue to strive not to let you down, even in the face of the hardship those who were not ready for governance imposed on us. Barka de Sallah,” he prayed
