Cristiano Ronaldo was once again Real Madrid’s saviour, scoring twice as they won 2-1 at Eibar on Saturday.
The Portugal captain was the main man, as Madrid ousted Paris Saint-Germain from the Champions League in midweek and opened scoring again with a fine finish from Luka Modric’s pass.
Eibar equalised five minutes after the break when Ivan Ramis headed home from Pedro Leon’s corner.
Ronaldo’s bullet header from Dani Carvajal’s cross in the 84th minute earned Madrid the three points.
The victory moves Real four points within second-placed Atletico Madrid.
Zinedine Zidane’s men are however still 12 points behind leaders Barcelona.
