Head coach of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma, has expressed his disappointment over his side’s 1-0 loss to Wikki Tourists, in a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash last weekend.
Christopher Waziri scored late in the fixture, to condemn the Port Harcourt club to yet another away defeat.
The loss meant that Enugu Rangers topped Rivers United at the top of the table, with two games left before the season ends .
Eguma remains optimistic, that his side can still shock many observers and win the title.
“We played very well but it was not to be in the end as they scored very late in the game,” he said.
“We cannot complain, but we will continue to work hard to see that we achieve something positive at the end of the season.”
Rivers United currently have 56 points and are in second place behind Rangers.
They host relegation strugglers Abia Warriors this weekend, before finishing their campaign away to Akwa United.
