Eguavoen’s NPFL U-17 side beat Italy’s Torino team 3 – 0

Nigeria’s Professional Football League (NPFL) All Stars U-17 side which is managed by Ex-Super Eagles coach, Austin Eguavoen, has defeated Torino Football Club Youth side 3-0 in their second Group A game of the Future Champions Cup tournament in Gauteng, South Africa.

The Nigerian youngsters got their first goal in the second minute through Gombe United forward, Toluwalase Arokodare who finished off a swift counter attack.

The NPFL All Stars top striker, Nazifi Yahaya, who assisted the first goal scored the second in similar fashion in the 16th minute.

Shooting Stars’ Rafiu Kayode Ishaq almost made it 3-0 nine minutes into the second half but the left winger’s freekick missed the target by few inch away.

Nazifi Yahaya then grabbed his brace soon afterwards when he scored from a rebound in the 56th minute.

The striker met a perfect cross by Salisu Musa Mustapha, hit a snap shot which the Italian keeper could not catch at the first time, then he placed the ball beyond the keeper.

The Italian U-17 side missed a couple of chances including a penalty saved by Nasarawa United’s Mohammed Galadima, and also had one of its players sent off.
