Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers, has left out Efe Ambrose from his squad, in order to avoid a fans’ backlash against the defender following his own goal against Barcelona in a pre-season friendly in July.
The Scottish club faced Barca again in the Champions League on Tuesday night and were hammered 7-0.
“The manager (Brendan Rogers) has told Efe (Ambrose) he has decided to leave him out of the first team for the time being until the Celtic fans have forgiven him for that howler against Barca,” a source close to the player informed AfricanFootball.
Celtic did not register Ambrose for the Champions League and he is yet to feature in the league after four rounds of matches.
