EFCC’s claim of attack a scam, Magu desperate to retain job – Fayose’s aide

Lere Olayinka, media assistant to Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose has described the attack on the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as a big lie.

He said the false alarm was made up to draw Nigeria’s sympathy for EFCC Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement yesterday said the Abuja office of the commission was attacked.

But Olayinka in a broadcast on Thursday insisted that the gunmen could not have attacked the EFCC office and escape with the presence of heavy security men around the EFCC headquarters.

“If you have been to EFCC office in Abuja, you will know that the story of gunmen attacking the agency’s office is a LIE!,” he said.

“I’m aware that there are CCTV cameras on the street, and there is Security check point at the entrance of the street. The street is also a CLOSE, you get out through the same road from which you enter.

“Also, there are barriers on the road, no vehicle can go beyond 30km/hr. How then were the assailants able to escape? And how can assassins come to attack EFCC office with a NOTE in an envelope and now drop the ENVELOPE while escaping?”

Olayinka further likened the attack on EFCC office to the Kaduna airport cash discovery.

“This is just like the Kaduna Airport CASH discovery in which the CCTV camera in the Airport could not capture the those who brought the FIVE SACKS full of cash into the Airport.

“Remember too that we are yet to be told the owner of that shop in Legico Shopping Plaza, Victoria Island, Lagos where EFCC claimed it found over N400m cash?

Olayinka advised the EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu, to try another trick to secure his job.

“As for me, this tale of gunmen attacking EFCC office and dropping THREAT NOTE does not add up. My name is Lere Olayinka, I have BRAIN and I am using it, you can also use your own if you have it.”
