The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is still grilling Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, over allegations of corruption
Ekeweremadu arrived at the EFCC headquarters on Tuesday morning and was subsequently taken into custody for “severe interrogation”.
The agency’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren told Premium Times, that the lawmaker is being quizzed over alleged illicit acquisition of properties.
“They are asking him about illicit asset acquisitions.
“We have to make sure he clarified everything,” Uwujaren said.
He, however, could not confirm when Ekweremadu would be released to go home.
