A former governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, who was detained for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has been released on administrative bail.

The anti graft agency on Tuesday grilled the immediate past governor for hours over alleged misappropriation of public funds while he was governor.

Mr. Jang was earlier probed by a committee set up by his successor, Simon Lalong, claiming the former governor misappropriated billions of naira.

A media aide to Mr. Jang, Clinton Garuba, confirmed to newsmen on Wednesday that his principal was released late Tuesday night after several hours in detention.

Garba said he was released on administrative bail.

“Part of the conditions for the administrative bail is the provision of a surety who must hold the position of a director in the civil service,” Mr. Garuba said.
