Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, raided a facility being developed by former President, Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, Robert Azibaola, in Otakeme, Bayelsa State.

No reason was given for the raid, though the company premises was searched by the operatives on the suspicion that they would find hidden cash.

Spokesman of the company, Austin Ekeinde, lamented that some containers, machines and buildings were damaged in the process.

He said “At about 1500 hours today, 13th April 2017, EFCC operatives invaded KAKATAR premises in Otakeme in Bayelsa State and vandalised containers, equipment, machines and damaged our buildings in the process.

“KAKATAR premises in Otakeme houses our construction equipment, machines and residential buildings and it not for the storage of cash or any other material.”

The development came on the heels of similar raids in Lagos, Kano and Kaduna by EFCC operatives in search of cash suspected to have been stashed by some powerful Nigerians.
