A former Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, was yesterday detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over alleged abuse of office and misappropriation of fund.

The anti-graft agency questioned Ogunlewe at its Iyag‎anku, Ibadan, Oyo State office.

The politician was asked to react to allegations including abuse of office, corruption and betrayal of public trust as Pro-chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta.

Ogunlewe, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, is the current Pro-chancellor of FUNAAB.

The EFCC, it was gathered, acted on a petition written by concerned stakeholders in FUNAAB.

It was alleged that the Pro Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor engaged in an “unbridled corruption and betrayal of public trust”.
