EFCC detains former FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday quizzed former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Bala Mohammed.

The arrest is said to connected with his alleged multiple criminal breaches while in office.

Vanguard reports that Bala Mohammed, who reported to the commission’s headquarters in Abuja around 10: 30 am on Monday, was detained and questioned extensively in connection with questionable schemes and projects undertaken by him when he held sway as FCT Minister between 2011 and 2015.

The detention and interrogation of Mohammed, according to sources, followed series of petitions filed against him by individuals and groups since 2013.

He was also confronted by EFCC operatives with evidence of sleaze.

Recently, Senator Mohammed denied media reports that he had been indicted by anti-graft agencies and that some of his property had ‎been confiscated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
