EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu terrorizing Nigerian Senate – Senator Alimekhena

Senator Francis Alimekhena (PDP) representing Edo North Senatorial district has described the Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC) Chairman as a terrorist.
He was reacting on the floor of the Senate, Tuesday that there were myriads of accusations of financial scandals against Senators trending in the media, saying Mr. Ibrahim Magu was behind it.
He explained that since the anti-corruption czar was rejected confirmation, he has resorted to terrorizing them, stressing that no day passes without reports of financial crimes against any Senator.
“Mr President, distinguished colleagues, Mr Ibrahim Magu has been terrorizing us since we refused him confirmation.”
“He is behind all manner of allegations against us in the media,” Alimekhena posited.
He expressed concern that President Muhammadu Buhari was still keeping the EFCC Chairman in acting capacity, noting that the action was undermining the nation’s democracy.
Meanwhile, the executive communication on confirmation of (27) Resident Electoral Commissioners at today’s sitting was what triggered the resentment.
Other lawmakers in their contributions expressed anger that President Buhari was not implementing the Senate’s decision on some critical issues.
