Edo election will hold on Saturday – INEC

Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, has announced that the Edo State governorship election will hold on Saturday as earlier scheduled.

Yakubu made the pronouncement during a press briefing at the state headquarters of the commission on Thursday.

Recall that the Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Services, DSS, had yesterday warned the election umpire against going ahead with the election on Saturday, citing security concerns.
