Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi has chided the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for reneging on its promises to Nigerians.
This is as Makarfi urged President Muhammadu Buhari to provide a level playing field for all political parties during the Edo State governorship election and not to interfere in the poll.
A statement by the spokesman of Makarfi-led committee, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, also admonished the President against interfering in the governorship election coming up in September, stressing that the people of the state will massively vote for the PDP’s candidate.
The statement said, “We have seen it before, and we are seeing it again. With the usual empty promises of the APC, they will promise everything to deceive the people and will go 360 degrees denouncing all their promises once they grab power.”
Stressing that the people of the state will massively vote candidate of the PDP in the forth coming election, the former Kaduna State governor maintained that the party was determined to redeem the Edo people from the “go-and-die government of the APC,” which has no regards for the ordinary people by imposing heavy taxation on them without meaningful projects.
