Tyronne Ebuehi has turned down a chance to play for Nigeria, in their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Algeria on November 12.

The ADO Den Haag defender, was a surprise inclusion in the Super Eagles squad for the game against the Desert Warriors . But he has now told his club’s website, that the time is not right to represent his country.

“I see it as a great honour that I am recognised in my homeland,” he said.

“But at this moment ADO Den Haag requires my full attention, especially now that I have settled in the team.

“Therefore, it seems to me that now does not seem the right time to travel to Nigeria for the match.

“I want to focus completely on the club, but I certainly do not rule out that I will honour a possible next call”, he said.

Ebuehi has featured in seven of ADO Den Haag’s 11 games this season and scored just once.
