The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Osun State Command, yesterday advised passengers to avoid body contact while in commercial vehicles to prevent contacting Ebola virus. It stated its readiness to work together with other agencies of government to prevent the penetration of the deadly disease into the state.

The corps also promised to ensure that drivers stop overloading their vehicles by limiting their carrying capacity to maximum of three passengers at back seats.

The unit Commander, FRSC, Ile-Ife, Mr. Richard Adetoro, said that the measure was part of the efforts to prevent the spread of the Ebola virus.

Thereafter, FRSC officers were seen inspecting vehicles along the Akure/Ile-Ife road to ensure that drivers comply with the order.

He added that road users had been briefed on the dangers inherent in overloading; adding that any driver that fails to conform to the order would be sanctioned henceforth.
