In an effort to continue to enlighten the people of Rivers State about the Ebola Virus Disease, the National Orientation Agency has carried out a road show to further sensitize the people of the state.
The NOA also decried the spate of stigmatisation with regard to the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease.
Rivers State Director of NOA, Oliver Wolugbom made this know while addressing newsmen during a road show organised by the agency to sensitise the people of the state.
Wolugbom noted that people should encourage Ebola contact persons rather than stigmatising them.
“Stigmatization has become a very big problem. Somebody whose relation might have been fingered as having it will be facing some challenges in the communities where they are.
“We are appealing to Nigerians. We are appealing to Rivers people to know that stigmatization is not a good thing.
“With this level of stigmatization, any contact person will be avoiding treatment”, he said.
The state Director of the NOA, Wolugbom while appreciating government at all levels for making concerted efforts in wiping out the virus, also advised that people should continue to maintain good hygiene.
