An early highway pile-up in Sango-Ota in Ogun state on Monday has left two people with serious injuries, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

The accident occurred at the old Tollgate between Lagos and Ogun States.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Unit Commander in Ota, Mr Leye Adegboyega, told NAN that the accident occurred at about 4.20 a.m.

“The accident involved a trailer with registration no. DUT 142 XA and two other vehicles.

“The trailer which was coming from Abeokuta lost control due to brake failure and rammed into a commercial bus and a Toyota car.

“Four people were involved in the accident, but only two sustained serious injuries,’’ he said.

Adegboyega, who alleged speeding by the trailer driver, said the two victims of the accident had been admitted at the intensive care unit of a hospital.

He advised drivers to ensure that their vehicles were in good condition before embarking on any journey.
