Dybala not the new Maradona, he’s not good enough – Pele

Brazil legend Pele has said Argentina forward, Paulo Dybala, is not the next Diego Maradona.

Dybala enjoyed a successful 2016/2017 campaign with Juventus, scoring 19 goals as the Serie A champions won the Italian Double and reached the Champions League final.

But while there has been plenty of hype regarding the 23-year-old in his native Argentina, Pele is not impressed and insists he should not be compared to his former rival.

“He’s not as good as people say,” Pele told Tuttosport.

“They say he might be the heir to Maradona, but the only thing they have in common is that they kick with their left foot.”

Dybala played for 69 minutes on Friday, as Argentina beat Brazil 1-0 in Melbourne.
