The Asokoro residence of the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki, rtd, is currently under the siege of operatives from the Department of State Services, DSS.
PUNCH reports that the operatives of the DSS, in two black vans of the secret police, were seen at the gate of the residence of the former NSA.
According to the report, the DSS operatives besieged Dasuki’s residence in a bid to prevent him from embarking on a planned trip to the UK for medical treatment.
The report disclosed that the former National Security Advicer, was billed to travel out of the country on Wednesday night through a Lufthansa flight but had to postpone the journey till Thursday when he discovered that DSS operatives were waiting for him at the airport and to avoid creating a scene at the airport.
A source stated that the former NSA was surprised when his residence was again besieged by operatives of the DSS on Thursday.
The source said, “The DSS are raiding the residence of the former NSA, Dasuki again.
“We really can’t say why they went there. They were with two of their operational vehicles painted in black and are parked outside.
“You know that the man was to travel to the UK via a Lufthansa Flight on Wednesday night.
“The man had to call off the journey when it was realised that the DSS had gone to the airport to lay siege on him.
“Then, this morning, they went to the house, nobody knows their intention for now.”
Operatives of the DSS had on July 19 besieged the residence of the former NSA and in the process confiscated his international passport.
Dasuki was charged to court for illegal possession of firearms and illegal possession of local and foreign currencies.
Ruling on the matter, the Presiding Judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, on Tuesday ordered the DSS to release the passport to Dasuki.
