DSS arrests Suwe, Katsina Ala kidnap kingpin, others

The Department of State Services, DSS, has arrested Isaiah Suwe, a notorious kidnap suspect who allegedly masterminded heinous crimes in Katsina Ala, Benue state, including armed robbery, murder and cattle rustling.

DSS spokesman, Tony Opuiyo said the arrest was made by a joint team of the service operatives and military at Takum in Taraba state.

The 23-year-old gang leader was arrested with Barnabas Torva Amadu, Aondi Tersoo, Nengenen Mbaawuaga Damian, Aondoase Kayitor and Ternenge Retail who also are members of the gang.

Amadu was accused of participating in the kidnap and murder of Hosea IBI, a Member of the Taraba State House of Assembly.

Similarly, five members of the GEMERE kidnap gang said to have kidnapped some Canadians and Americans along Abuja – Kaduna road were also arrested.

Their names are: Usman Umaru (aka Dan Guru) Abubakar Umaru, Garba UMAR, aka smally, Abubakar Garba and Umar Bello.

Other kidnap suspects in Kogi, Rivers and Edo states were also napped by the operatives.

Items recovered are nine (9) SIM cards, different telephone brands and accessories, bank ATM Card, a flash drive, one (1) Voter’s card and one (1) ID card belonging to Moses Yaro, a member of Vigilante Group of Nigeria in Taraba State.
