National headquarters of the Department of State services, DSS, Abuja, on Thursday, said it has arrested Bashiru Adams and Rufai Sajo, both suspected to be commanders of the budding Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA).
An official of DSS, Tony Opuiyo, made this known in a statement released to select newsmen in Abuja.
Opuiyo revealed that the major suspects were nabbed on May 5 this year at Kukuntu village, Gwagwalada area council, FCT, Abuja.
Also, following intelligence reports, another ISWA member called Umar Dogo was arrested on April 28 at Muda Lawal Market at Bauchi, Bauchi State with Abubakar Abubakar (aka Alhaji Buba) who was said to be an expert in Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs.
DSS operatives disclosed that the suspects were discovered to have concluded plans not only to perpetuate the ideals of the Movement in the area, but to, in collaboration with Boko Haram, carry out heinous violent attacks on innocent persons.
