The prolonged captivity of over 200 Chibok schoolgirls has apparently made their parents to resign to fate, believing that the security forces will hardly find their daughters..
This is as the aggrieved parents yesterday appealed to the federal government to allow foreign troops go in search of their daughters.
One of the abducted girls’ fathers told Leadership Sunday that, “we are tired of waiting. If our soldiers have challenges concerning their weapons, they should go and bring in foreign troops to help us rescue our daughters.”
The middle-aged man whose names was not mentioned for security reasons, said the lives of the 219 girls “have become an issue of politics”.
“Government should forget its pride and call in those who can assist them to rescue our girls,” he begged.
“This is getting out of hands and the girls’ days with Boko Haram are now over 100 days, yet, we take it as if it is all a joke.
“If our soldiers have to wait until they get new weapons that are being purchased by government, then let the federal government allow American troops that showed interest in the rescue come and help us out before it is too late.”
The aggrieved father, who claimed he was not part of those that met the President last week at the Aso Rock Villa, further called on Nigerians to prevail on the FG to allow foreign countries play a bigger role in the ongoing efforts to free the girls.
