The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has arranged international friendly matches for the U-23 side against Brazil and England, ahead of next year’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Second vice-president of the NFF, Shehu Dikko, the two games have almost be tied up and will be played during FIFA windows.
“We want to as usual give the team the adequate and the best preparation that will ensure that they go to Rio to compete very well and if possible win the gold. There are other friendly games we are discussing with some countries for the team that won AFCON U-23 in Senegal,” Dikko told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“The NFF will ensure that the Under-23 Eagles do not go to the Rio Olympics as mere participants but real contenders for the Olympic gold. We want to repeat the 1996 Atlanta Olympic feat of the Nwankwo Kanu-led squad.”
Dikko also added that he wanted big improvements from the Dream Team VI before the Games kick off.
