The hosts of this year’s Olympic Games, created the better chances, but were either denied by poor finishing or goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel who had an excellent game.
Ubong Ekpai scored the only goal of the encounter after just four minutes, firing in a rebound.
Brazil will play another friendly against South Africa on March 27, as they continue to prepare for the Olympics – which they have never won in their history.
The draw for the tournament will be held in Rio next month.
