The Super Eagles refused to board a bus, that the Kenyan FA provided to drive them to the hotel, after they touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (Jkia) Nairobi on Monday night.
The team rejected the bus and insisted that they had made their own arrangements for transport and had to drive to their hotel without security.
Michael Esakwa, the Kenya FA’s Secretary General, revealed that they were forced to stop the bus conveying the Nigerian delegation, as they could not drive off without security.
“We had organized a bus to carry the team and luggage but they declined to board it and instead used their own transport. Their bus drove off without security forcing us to ask policemen to block it from leaving.” he told Goal.
“Ultimately we are responsible for their security and if anything happens to them we will be the ones to answer.”
The players and officials also rejected 680 Hotel, preferring the La Mada Hotel along Thika Road.
