Drag Zulu king to ICC – Senate tells FG

Writer's picture: AdminAdmin

The Nigerian Senate has called on the Federal Government to drag the South Africa’s Zulu King, Goodwill Zwelithini, before the International Criminal Court, ICC, for his role in instigating recent xenophobic violence in the Southern African country.

The Senate made the call on Wednesday.

The xenophobic violence reportedly started in South Africa, after the Zulu King was said to have told his people that foreigners in the country had outlived their welcome. He also accused other nationalities in the country of denying South Africans the jobs the hosts would have been employed for.

He was reported to have instructed them to ensure the foreigners leave South Africa.

It would be recalled that following xenophobic violence in the country where many people have so far been killed, many foreigners have abandoned their shops , while some have fled the country in fear.

Report says shops have been looted and torched, and South Africa’s image may have been dented.
