Dr. Akinlolu A. Adelaja: Save my Soul to Speaker, House of Reps, reminder on call on Registrar of MD

I complained against the professional misconducts of some Doctors to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) in my petition dated 17th January 2014. Unfortunately, the Medical and Dental Practitioners Investigative Panel (MDPIP) without calling for any hearing to clarify contradictory positions dismissed my case via MDPIP/617/213 dated 11th August 2014 written to me in contravention of Section 15(1) of the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act CAP M8, 2004; that says the MDPIP does not have the powers to pronounce judgment on Complaints submitted to the MDCN; but rather the MDPIP should forward its findings to the MDCN Tribunal for final determination.

Convinced that I was wronged, I turned to the regular court for justice. The Doctor (Defendant) brought a notice of preliminary objection saying the MDPIP already dismissed my case. The Judge ruled clearly that MDPIP acted beyond its powers, hence only final pronouncements from the MDCN Tribunal can be acted upon as judgment of the court.

The Medical Director of the Hospital where the Doctor (1st Defendant) committed his professional misconduct, claimed in two separate sworn affidavits that he never invited the Defendant for consultation of any kind with anyone in his hospital, that he was never a staff (permanent or locum) in his hospital, that he has never met him before in life until my petition came up; that what took place in his hospital was a fraud, and that the Defendant should show any evidence to the contrary either by letter, text or call logs. Yet, the MDPIP continues to protect this evil!

Since the Doctor and his collaborators knew there was no way out, they got another Doctor to act unethically to assist the Defendant in court. They believed I should be forced to accept their evil deeds!

I duly complained to the MDCN via my petition dated 31st January 2017 against this new criminal violation of my fundamental human rights. The MDPIP after series of reminders forwarded counter affidavits of some of the Doctors to me in late December 2017. The sworn affidavits of the Doctors forwarded to me in December 2017 were dated 14th and 15th December 2017 respectively. I provided my response affidavits to the submissions of the Doctors on 8th January 2018.

In furtherance of the MDPIP’s partiality, the MDPIP wrote me via MDPIP/759/78 dated 8th February 2018 that the Panel considered my submissions and counter affidavits of the doctors and my case decided between 12th and 17th November 2017!

The MDPIP considered my case between 12th and 17th November 2017, without the counter affidavits of some of the doctors, before it forwarded the claims of some of the Doctors to me and without my response affidavits to the claims of the doctors. In addition, the MDPIP still refused to abide by Section 15(1) of the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act CAP M8, 2004; and acted without forwarding my case to the MDCN Disciplinary Tribunal. I stated these facts of obvious injustice and partiality of the MDPIP in my petition dated 14th February 2018, with added facts that the MDPIP is yet to consider the counter affidavits of Doctors dated 14th and 15th December 2017 and my response affidavits to the claims of the Doctors especially the actions of the Doctors that ignited my petition of January 2017. I re-attached certified copy of the ruling of Kwara State High Court and previous petition of January 2017 with an appeal to the MDPIP to obey the laws of the nation and stop being partial. Furthermore, my lawyer officially wrote the Registrar of MDCN on 30th March 2018 intimating the Registrar of the obvious partiality of the MDPIP, and calling for intervention to ensure justice in my case.

Of recent, I noticed strange phone numbers calling me, and appearing with my outgoing and incoming calls even after I have blocked them turning my calls to conference calls. I am a university lecturer, and not of a wealthy status, hence the phone hacking issue is baffling. I have complained officially via a second letter written by my lawyer in January 2018 to the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Nigeria Police Command Headquarters on this issue. Some friends opined that it is possible my phone number has been cloned, and could be diverted or used for any purpose to implicate me. It is not impossible that Defendants may act in collusion with others within the Telecommunication or Law Enforcement Agencies to plant evidences against petitioners in-order to force them to drop their petitions. One of the rogue callers claimed to be a police officer in Lagos State, when called in the presenceof myself and my friend (a medical doctor) by an SIB Officer at the Kwara State Police Command Headquarters. The said rogue individual could be a staff of the Police, DSS or other agency in Ilorin working with other devilish collaborators to have me un-ethically implicated Tracking of the two phone numbers (including that of the said claimed police officer) has been done, but the Kwara State Police is yet to conclude investigation on the issue. All these are happening because the MDCN failed to act justly on my 2014 and 2017 petitions and have the Doctors cautioned!.

I am proud to be a Muslim and a Nigerian. I preach peace and unity all times. My father was a Christian and I have Christian siblings and relations. With all humility and glory to Allah (SWT), I have and continue to play my little roles in their lives. I went to a Christian Primary School, and my friends/colleagues at pre-university and university levels were mainly Christians. As a university student, I was an activist in a group led by atheists. I relate and work for the progress of humanity, irrespective of faith, colour or ethnic background. My beliefs are exemplified in my teachings to undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as Muslim gatherings. An example can be found in my Facebook video posting on how to make our educational system to be more productive, which was delivered at one of the annual MSSN Islamic Vacation Courses. Other examples abound in my opinions on national unity and development published by The Nation, Leadership Newspapers, Cable, online news websites and my Facebook postings.

In addition, I believe strongly in the vanity of this world and in the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that our possessions, wealth, positions e.t.c. are pre-ordained and there should be no worrying or desperation about worldly possessions. What is ours will not miss us, and what misses us is not ours. We should rather focus on what happens to us after death as we face Allah (SWT) to account for our deeds on earth, and how well we positively impacted on humanity before death. I say therefore, that the devilish efforts to have me implicated at all costs by rogue law enforcement agents in-order to have me drop my petitions is out-rightly evil. And I urge the Inspector General of Police and the Honourable Speaker of House of Representatives to come to my aid and save me from the devilish siege on my life!

It must be noted that with illegal phone hacking comes illegal surveillance! With illegal surveillance comes orchestrated efforts to have me implicated to achieve sinister ends! I say with emphasis that I am a sound Forensic Scientist and Molecular Biologist. During my PhD programme, I developed a software with the help of one of my elders in the academic community, which can be used to effectively identify individuals in social and criminal investigations on digital images, CCTV and other devices. My publications (which can be verified online via akinlolu google scholar citations) as well as problem-solving questions I demanded of undergraduate and postgraduate students via my questions in Anthropology and Molecular Biology attest to the fact that I am well seized of my position on the involvement of rogue law enforcement officers in the gross violation of my fundamental human rights and in the efforts to have me implicated at all costs!

I believe strongly that the Honourable Speaker of House of Representatives, the Registrar of the MDCN and the Inspector General of Police are honourable men of justice, and will act appropriately to ensure justice in my case. And I thank them all in advance.

My appeal to the Registrar of MDCN is to ensure justice in my case!

My appeal to the Police IG is that he kindly save me from the rogue law enforcement officer and his devilish collaborators!

My appeal to the Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives is that the intervention of the representatives of our people is required to save me from further violation of my fundamental human rights by these devilish characters!

May God Bless Nigeria. Amen.
