According to Bassey, “The agency will not hesitate to sanction any depot found guilty of the claim.”

Following an announcement by the Group Managing Director, Crude Oil Marketing of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mele Kyari, that the sale of petrol at N145 per litre was no longer feasible  with the current foreign exchange, the depot owners were said to as at yesterday allegedly increased the ex-depot price .

However, the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the NNPC, Malam Muhammad Garba-Deen, had cleared the air, saying there was no plan to increase the pump price of fuel .
