“The late former NAFDAC boss fought a good fight. Prof. Dora Akunyili as a NAFDAC DG, saved a lot of lives through her zero tolerance to the importation of fake drugs, she risked her life trying to save others. She is an elder states-person, erudite scholar devout nationalist, seasoned administrator and a visionary leader who championed the foremost National re-branding campaign titled ‘Nigeria: Good people, Great Nation’.

“Her death is a colossal loss; she will be missed by all. Her intimidating records/profile speak well of her robust, truthful and the fearless way she lived her life.

“She exhibited accountability, fairness, impartiality, transparency and a high level of professionalism during her period of selfless service to her country. We the Church will miss her greatly because of her uncommon qualities and her ardent resolve to push for that which will glorify God’s name at all times.

“We are commiserating with her family and as well praying God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and also for the quick repose of her soul. If every Nigerian should put aside self interest and go for that which will benefit others like the late Dora did, the Country will be a better living place”, the statement read
