The Provost, Federal College of Education (FCE), Pankshin, Dr Amos Cirfat, has warned newly admitted students of the College against involving in social vices so as not to mortgaging their ambitions.
Cirfat gave the warning in Pankshin during the matriculation ceremony of 880 newly admitted degree students of the College, for the 2016/2017 session.
“College education affords you the opportunity to empower yourselves with the skill, knowledge and expertise that would benefit your for the rest of your lives.
“If you allow extraneous variables like drugs, theft, drunkenness, rape, nudity among others to distract you, the the aim of your coming to the college will be defeated, ’’ he advised.
“I can among the matriculating students future state Governors, Provosts, Diplomats, Vice Chancellors, Ministers, Clergies and even Presidents of this country who will re-position this nation on the path of national development”, he noted.
The Provost maintained that to realize such visions, they most take their studies seriously, not only because they want to pass their examinations but because they should be celebrated as achievers.
The College’s boss also reminded them not to forget that they are the ambassadors of their respective families and communities and should do well by abiding by their matriculation oath.
While congratulating the students, the Provost stated that from now on they were expected to be of good behavior at all times within and outside the campus, more so that they have equal privilege as any other student on campus.
“You are the hope of a better tomorrow in this country and you cannot afford to fail your parents by letting them down in anyway.
“In fact, you can only be what you want to be if you work hard and remain committed and focused, ’’ he said.
He pledged the management’s resolve to upgrade, expand and sustain the growth and development of the College in all aspects.
According to him, all ongoing projects would be vigorously pursued to completion and ensure addition of more structures for the growing population in the College.
