Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Prof. Charles Dokubo, on Thursday expressed his determination to work towards achieving sustainable peace in the Niger Delta region.
He stated this in Abuja while receiving the report of a committee constituted on his assumption of office, to review the operations of the Amnesty Office towards enhancing its service delivery.
Dokubo said his agenda would include holding regular consultations with critical stakeholders in the Niger Delta region and embracing teamwork, as he strives to actualise Buhari’s developmental vision for the people of the region.
“Your detailed and painstaking report will shape the policy direction of my tenure and your recommendations will be well considered for implementation.
“We must work hard as a team to actualise President Buhari’s developmental vision for our region,” he said.
The committee, chaired by Prof. Ayibaemi Spiff, had 11 points of reference and submitted its report in eight volumes.
