Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has again addressed reports on political rift between him and the Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.
Dogara, speaking to journalists on his visit to Bauchi, said there was no rift between both parties, stating that he harboured no grudges against the state government.
He assured that he would not do anything against the collective wish of the people of Bauchi State.
According to him, the alleged rift was the figment of the imaginations of those spreading the rumours.
“All the struggles I have been championing are to better the lots of the people of Bauchi State and to find a more efficient way of enhancing the workings of the government.
“The alleged rift with the state government are just figment of the imaginations of those spreading the rumours.
“In politics it is normal to bicker but that it does not mean that we are fighting. Quarrelling always strengthen rather than retard development in any democracy,” he said.
He commended the reception accorded him and members of his entourage throughout his stay and commended the good virtues of the Governor and the operations of the government given him during the visit.
The Speaker was in Bauchi to condole the Government and people of the state over the death of late Senator Ali Wakili, the Senator who represented Bauchi South Senatorial district at the National Assembly.
