Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Bogoro local government area of Bauchi state, Mr Daniel Komo, has stated that the party is patiently waiting to receive the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara back to its fold any moment from now.

This was against the backdrop of yesterday’s defection of Senate President Bukola Saraki barely a week after about 50 Senators and Reps members dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the PDP.

Speaking exclusively to DAILY POST on Wednesday, the PDP chairman stated that Dogara’s place in PDP is not negotiable as he has helped nurture the party to its current stage.

He said, “I have said it earlier that PDP at home in Bogoro LGA is patiently waiting for Dogara to join the party being our lovely son of the soil who is worthy of emulation. Our call for him to join us now followed Saraki’s final defection to PDP.”

Komo claimed that danger awaits the APC during the 2019 election by the time Dogara finally returns to PDP after the gale of defections the ruling party has so far suffered.

He said, “APC cannot claim that the recent gale of defection suffered by the party is not a threat to them ahead of the 2019 elections because the move has given them strong indication of losing power as Nigerians are tired of hunger, poverty and insecurity.”

Komo disclosed that arrangements were already on top gear to mobilise PDP supporters to receive Dogara back to its fold, stressing that the Speaker is a cornerstone in Nigeria’s politics that cannot be jettisoned.

“I want to categorically tell APC that we still need Dogara in PDP and at home more than ever before since the ruling party does not appreciate his efforts in deepening democracy,” he claimed.

Komo went on to urge Nigerians to vote out the APC-led government which, according to him, emerged through deceit and lies.

He called on PDP members and supporters to always be law-abiding, asserting that APC is “not going anywhere” in the 2019 elections.
