Disaster reportage: NEMA praises media for its support

The National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) has thanked media houses in the country for their supports towards the agency in 2012.
In a statement by Yushau Shuaib, Head of Media and Publicity, the Emergency Management Bureau said it was appreciative of the enormous assistance by the mass media, especially in the area of information dissemination about its activities to the general public.
The spokesman further reiterated that the cordial relationship the agency has with electronic and print organization would be sustained in the new year.
NEMA, a body saddled with the responsibility of managing disasters and related issues in Nigeria, was established through Act 12 as amended by Act 50 of 1999 constitution.
